Miscellaneous work crews in the Keys

Flagler did provide for the religious needs of the work crews.

Note the heavy clothes, however it is November and beginning to cool off.

The preliminary work was mostly done human labor.

Quarterboats continued to be used for bridge construction.

     An idea of the size of a work crew. There were 82 numbered works camps at times throughout the Keys. The numbering generally began with one on Key Largo and ended with 82 in Key West. Sometimes the entire camp was moved and other times the workmen moved depending on the skills required.
